Green Pastures Church have given the green light to begin construction work on their “super village” development on the outskirts of Ballymena.
Harvey Group PLC have been engaged by Martin & Hamilton as the successful M&E Contractors to Develop & Install the Mechanical & Electrical Building Services at the new £30m Church complex.
The Church is the first phase of the development which will eventually comprise a business park, training centre, social and student houses, a nursing home, and retail premises.
The plans were promoted by the Green Pastures Church and its pastor Jeff Wright, a former Ballymena United footballer and son of Wright bus founder William Wright.
A spokesman for the Church said: ""Green Pastures Church believes in Ballymena, and is committed to supporting and blessing the area. Being able to support local companies, local jobs and the local economy is a very positive, practical outworking of this.."
As well as a state-of-the-art 1,650-seat main auditorium, the new complex will incorporate a range of community facilities including a gymnasium, children's indoor play area, fully equipped sports hall, café, restaurant, informal meeting zones, specialised youth facilities and a wedding and reception venue”.
