The 25,000m┬▓ Titanic Visitors Centre was a multi-use development including interactive exhibition spaces, education facilities, cafe areas, social spaces, a banquet hall, restaurants, retail units, catering facilities, offices & plant areas.
Electrical Services included the installation of LV Distribution, general lighting, general power, emergency lighting, disabled facilities, CCTV, access control, security detection and alarm, fire detection systems and lightning protection.
Specialist lighting installations included 3000m of colour changing cold cathode lighting with scene setting on 5th floor, Gallery lighting was provided via three circuit tracks for future flexibility and was programmable from central computerized system. Outside feature lighting was part of the architectural solution to illuminate the aluminium cladding/hulls.
Electrical infrastructure distributed throughout the Structure / steel hulls to allow flexibility and modification of services within gallery spaces for change of use.
Mechanical Services included ULTHW Heating, chilled water cooling, space conditioning via supply and extract ventilation systems, miscellaneous comfort cooling systems, local extract systems, a building energy management system (BEMS), cold water services, domestic hot water services, above ground drainage (excluding surface water), rainwater harvesting, fume and smoke extract system.
Sustainable/Renewable technologies including the installation of tri-generation CHP, thermal wheels & rainwater harvesting were incorporated into the design;
3rd Party independent commissioning officer was appointed to work alongside the project managers during the installation period with a focus on a right first time commissioning and handover process;
