Ballymena Health Care Centre is Northern Ireland's First Combined Health & Social Care Centre and is now the largest facility of its kind in the province.
The new £25million Ballymena Health and Care Centre encompasses the new look of healthcare provision in Northern Ireland, with a wide range of medical and social care services now housed within this impressive building.
Mechanical Installations included Gas-fired LPHW heating system, Gas-fired domestic hot water system and sanitary ware. Air-conditioning system, Fume extract system, Automatic opening windows, Automatic opening stairwell vents, Rainwater harvesting, Heat recovery ventilation system, Dental vacuum system, Dental compressed air system, Natural gas and gas detection system and Medical gas detection system.
Electrical Installations included Main switchboard, Distribution Switchboard, fire alarm, system, CCTV, Intruder Alarm, Disabled Refuge, Lighting System, Emergency Lighting, Nurse Call system, Data Network, Lightning Protection, TV System, Music system and sound system.
The unique sloped ceilings left us with the difficult task of co-ordinating services within an ever decreasing space within the ceiling void. However, through communication, having our own specific M&E co-ordinator and the use of AutoCAD to rule out clashes made a significant difference in this regard and helped us achieve the successful installation
